  • Mark T. Gran

Mr. Gran has extensive knowledge and experience in the real estate, project development and renewable energy fields. Having been in real estate for over 20 years in California, he has also been a licensed real estate broker in the State of Arizona for almost 4 years. Mr. Gran worked the last 4 years for CalEnergy Operating Corporation in the geothermal field as their VP of Real Estate Assets/Community Relations. There he managed their real estate department working on mineral and surface leases, easements, rights of way and project permitting. He also represented the company in negotiations with governmental entities and agencies as well as public relations efforts.

During his real estate career, Mr. Gran has worked as a sales agent for other companies, both resale and new construction, been a loan officer and has run Strictly Business since 2007.

When he started out in the industry, he worked for Niel Horne Real Estate, negotiating acquisitions and sales of residential, commercial and investment properties. He also was the sales manager for a new home developer, Dick Con Construction out of San Diego, who contracted Niel Horne Real Estate  to do their sales. After earning his Broker’s license in 1995, he soon left Niel Horne to start his own firm, Strictly Business, which he ran successfully for several years.

Mr. Gran closed his business when he was given the opportunity to work for a new home developer, McMillin Companies, based out of San Diego. He became the Vice President/Sales Manager responsible for all aspects of the sales and marketing programs for the Imperial Valley. He was also involved with the corporate officers and project managers on product development and future project acquisition.

Mr. Gran is an elected councilman for the City of Imperial, beginning his fifth term. Because of his political background, he also became the public affairs person for McMillin  in the Imperial Valley. He represented the company in the media, at public events and in negotiations with local politicians and governmental entities. He was instrumental in successfully building the company's image in the community and maintaining relations with the governmental agencies he dealt with on a daily basis. Due to this success, he was promoted to Vice President/Community and Political Relations to concentrate wholly in this area.

When the housing industry experienced the downturn, McMillin Homes closed the local offices. However, Mr. Gran restarted his real estate firm and began consulting for developers as well as doing real estate transactions. McMillin Companies contracted with him while they were continuing to downsize. Mr. Gran has also contracted with other developers such as Pacific Century Homes and was the local representative for the Building Industry Association.
